See you at http://www.n2.fi/ - we'll post there from now on :)
Following The Knife's huge success Karin Dreijer Andersson has a new project called Fever Ray. The sound is still very similar as The Knife's but it's more mellow and atmospheric. Here's the video from the first single "If I Had a Heart". The album is currently avialable as a digital download only but will be released as CD in March 23rd.

Microsoft, with the help of Crispin, Porter & Bogusky not to mention Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld, is trying very hard (maybe a bit too hard?) to do what Apple did with their already classic Apple vs. PC ads. It seems that the common understanding is that the Apple vs. PC ads are the benchmark of tech advertising. But we'd like to offer a new contender to the race.
John Cleese, one of the original members of the British comedy group Monty Python, created a bunch of ads for Compaq (a computer brand later aquired by HP) in the 80's. These comedy gems still make you wanna buy the 386's and "portables" they are promoting and show how advertising tech products can be just plain silly and still get the message across.
For all of the ads do a little search on YouTube.
The troops are getting stronger. Sami Salmenkivi (formerly of Dagmar) joins Laundry from September 1st onwards. Sami is widely known in Finland for his views on digital marketing, especially on social networking / web 2.0. He's even wrote a book on the topic. Nice :)
Check the news article about the move in Taloussanomat (only in Finnish - sorry).
Yippi-kay-ee!
The condition of poor Baltic Sea is getting worse. But that´s not an excuse to act all escapist and neglect the thing. We here at Laundry were amazed to hear, that most of the washing detergents still include loads of phosphates. And let me tell you, phosphates are baaaad for the sea. According to a report conducted by HELCOM, quitting the use of phosphates in the washing powders and -agents, would significantly reduce the phosphor load that toxins the sea and feeds the evil blue-green alga, that now invades the Baltic Sea every summer. In the governmental level, next time these issues are to be taken under scrutiny is in the 2010! In the meantime, we consumers can act by favoring brands that do not use harmful ingredients such as phosphates in their products. Luckily they do exist. One of them is called Ecover.

As a huge fan of the city of Chicago, we were exited to find out that the windy city was meant to be the original Gotham City. With its mind-blowing architectural scenery and dark criminal history, Chicago seems to be an obvious choice for the battlefield of good and evil. There are still few days left before we can join the global hype of the new Batman movie, but after all the high praise and attention, there's no doubt we're gonna become fans of the Dark Knight itself and it's late anti-hero, Heath Ledger.
This is the site we visit the most during the (notoriously short and unpredictable) Finnish summer: Foreca.mobi. It's got it all with animated precipitation maps and marine weather and it works like a charm on your mobile.
And they've got versions for various languages as well so you don't need to learn Finnish in order to be able to use it...which is nice.
